**This is the 14th review for the ’25 days of Christmas’ drawing.  Find post with rules here**   Full Review

size: 4 3/4×42 Corona (Minnie) 5×50 Robusto (Schnorr)

THE GET:   I was given these to try back in July and after some good humidor time, I was ready to smoke them both.  I had always figured I would smoke them in the same day to compare since they are so close.  That day was today.

THE PACKAGING:  Berger & Argenti has done an absolutely great job in packaging; with the exception of the caution tape on the Entubar.  The MOOCH® falls into the category of great bands and boxes.  The upper band is small and simple and the cigar has the bottom two inches wrapped in paper that looks like old newspaper headlines.  The headlines are news of the cuban trade embargo and the look it creates for the cigar is very unique.  The boxes the MOOCH® comes in are cedar slide tops and have holes throughout them.  You might have seen the retail display box also (picture shown is from their website), a display box that I would love to have in my personal collection.

THE CIGAR:  Both these cigars are perfectly constructed and presented.  The MOOCH® was created to become an everyday cigar for the cigar enthusiast.  Berger & Argenti describe it as, “a rich, creamy smoking experience that stands as one of the best values in the premium long-filler cigar market. Handcrafted with sweet, robust Nicaraguan Cuban seed fillers grown in Esteli; a savory Jalapa-grown binder crop and enveloped in a sun-grown Ecuador Connecticut Seed wrapper; MOOCH® is rapidly becoming what is was meant to be: a cigar enthusiasts’ everyday ‘cigar of choice’!”  The only difference in the two is the wrapper, which is processed into a maduro for the darker, stronger version.  The MOOCH® comes in two other sizes; a 6×52 Torpedo (Loll) and a 7×49 Churchill (Windbag).  I’m not sure about the names, but I was very anxious to smoke these sticks.

THE SMOKE:  These are very even burning cigars that offer perfect draws and pleasant smoke.  Both are also very smooth, with the natural giving off a creamy flavor and the maduro an earthy flavor.  As the cigar progressed, I was treated to some spice in the natural and some wood and chocolate in the maduro.  The minnie lasted 45 minutes and the robusto 60; the corona size (42 ring gauge) has been growing on me lately, and I preferred the smoke draw and flavor delivery of that over the robusto.  I enjoyed the flavor of the robusto more, though.

THE SKINNY:  There are not many quality cigars that can boast they are “everyday cigars” for most people.  By most people, I mean people like me that are on a budget and can’t smoke their favorite cigar everyday.  The MOOCH® holds true to its claim however.  One of these cigars will be right for you.  The natural will hold its own against any connecticut when paired with a cup of coffee, and the maduro will be enjoyed by anyone looking for a stronger cigar.  Although it wasn’t as strong as I had hoped, it is not full-bodied like I have read, it is strong enough to keep a maduro smoker happy.  Because they only cost $6, I have to rate them as a great cigar.  I recommend you try these, and challenge you to find a better deal at your B&M than this.  You will not be disappointed.
